| Bio | Music has been part of me since ...errr... well... I had my first
tooth!! (still have all of them!!). First I became a musician at the
age of 13 playing Bass Guitar in a band from Gouyave called "Elites Vibration" (Calypsonian "Beast" was also in the band, while we were
still attending secondary school). Actually, the band was owned by my
father, who was also a Calypsonian... hmmmm?? After graduating from secondary school, I could not think of anything else, BUT music, I enlisted in the Royal Grenada Police Force, to join the band; however that only lasted two weeks (and a very good two weeks since I got to play for calypsonians Valentino and Super Blue from Trinidad, in a concert at Seamoons!!) Well that was the end of Band career... Around 1988, I met up with Bobby Steele and the crew (what was the name?? Play Boys... or something) thru my brother, Derrick, who was at that time a dj for the crew... so I tag along... but the crew broke up... everybody... except ME... left Grenada. In 1991, one Friday night while at the boatyard, the house Dj 'Dr Love" never turned up... the owner... "Champy" Evans was frantic, so I offered to Dj for the night, and surprisingly the crowd could not have told the difference!!... at the end of the night... I became "Boatyard's In House DJ" until 1994 when Boatyard closed. By this time Bobby and a few of his colleagues returned to Grenada and formed "Summercrew" which I became part of, so my Dj career continued... In 1997 Boatyard reopened again, under the management of the Spronks and I was called back again to be the In House Dj... until it closed again in 2004... then the birth of CLUB BANANAS... where you'll now find me!! All in all, I have gained a lot of experience in this field and played in various Clubs and places like Fantasia, Club Salines, Fox Inn, Castaways, Citysound 97.5 fm, Weefm 93.9, Summercrew Bikini Cruise... Played along with, practically, all the top Djs in Grenada, also Shot Master J, Red Alert, and Jason Williams out of Trinidad. |
